Open Book – trekking + lunch in a refuge

3 August

With its 1937 meters, the Libro Aperto is one of the most fascinating peaks of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. Its name derives from the particular double hump shape that resembles, in fact, a wide-open book. From the summit, which marks the border between Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna, spectacular views of the Po Valley and the Abetone Apennine ridge open up.

Itinerary
We will start from the CAI 00 path, just above the Abetone Pass, along the watershed to the Foce della Verginetta. We will pass by the Casetta di Lapo Refuge, from which we will take the CAI 495 path to reach the valley below and, from there, climb to the summit. After a panoramic stop, we will descend along the ridge of Monte Rotondo, until we return to the refuge where it will be possible to have lunch with an à la carte menu.

Lunch in the refuge:
Before returning to the village we will stop for lunch at the Casetta di Lapo Refuge, with an à la carte menu to be paid on site. Lunch is optional and not included in the participation fee.

To book the excursion, just send a whatsapp message to 377.5260269 indicating a name and the number of participants
